Kerala Sampark Kranti Express : ウィキペディア英語版 | Kerala Sampark Kranti Express
thumb Kerala Sampark Kranti Express is a train that runs between Kochuveli Railway Station in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the state of Kerala and Chandigarh in Punjab. It departs from Kochuveli Railway Station on Mondays and Saturdays and it leaves Chandigarh on Wednesdays and Fridays. This train was introduced to provide quicker connectivity from India's capital New Delhi to locations in Kerala. ''Kerala Sampark Kranti Express,22685/22686 Karnataka Sampark Kranti ( Yesvantpur to Chandigarh ) and Goa Sampark Kranti Expresses ( Madgaon to Chandigarh) are the only Sampark Kranti trains that runs beyond national capital'' and Kerala Sampark Kranti is the longest running Sampark Kranti Express. It runs via the Konkan route. == Sampark Kranti == ''Sampark'' and ''Kranti'' are borrowed from Sanskrit, . Sampark(''Devanagari'':-''सम्पर्क'') means Contact and Kranti(''Devanagari'':-क्रान्ति ) means Revolution. The name denotes a revolutionary step taken by Indian Railways to provide high speed connectivity with the National Capital to the common man in form of non-air conditioned express trains with minimal stoppages and high running speed. Earlier such a facility was available on the Rajdhani series of super-fast trains which were completely air-conditioned and hence quite expensive. The Rajdhani and Shatabdi series are the fastest trains in India. The Sampark Kranti trains run at a slightly lesser speed than these and yet provide for a high speed option at a normal price due to the minimal stoppages and relatively faster speeds than other non-Rajdhani and non-Shatabdi express trains.
